With varied ministry experiences, including student development, counseling, pastoring, and teaching psychology and Old Testament studies, Dr. Talley brings a blend of scholarship and practical application to his classroom instruction. He co-pastors a local church, and enjoys research in the areas of Old Testament theology, the Pentateuch, and the prophets. His dissertation research on the judgment of pain in Genesis 3 continues to be a focus in his research as he formulates a perspective on godly living in a difficult world. Dr. Talley is passionate about understanding and teaching the truths of God’s Word, discipling and equipping others, and “passing on the faith” to the next generation. His work has been published in The New International Dictionary of Old Testament Theology and Exegesis, Journal of Biblical Manhood and Womanhood and the Christian Research Journal. Dr. Talley travels extensively with the goal of partnering with the international church and training leaders, especially with a focus on impacting Muslim nations with the gospel. He has traveled to South Korea, Kenya, Thailand, Armenia, Russia, Ukraine, Brazil, Honduras, Dominica, Nigeria, Mexico, and the Congo to equip believers.
Mark Miller has been leading worship around the country for the past twenty years. He has served as Director of Music at such notable congregations as Church in Fort Lauderdale, FL. As well, he has served as a regular worship leader at the Billy Graham Training Center at “The Cove”. Mark has shared the stage with the Buddy Greene, Lenny LeBlanc, Keith and Kristen Getty, Shane and Shane, and many others.
These days, Mark spends his time writing and performing his original music in music venues up and down the East Coast.
He hold degrees in music and theology, including a Master of Sacred Music degree from Emory University.
Most importantly, Mark is the Father of four children.
Use the Campus Map to get a feel for the venue of Biola University. Building of interest are Hope Hall #66, Li Apartmenets #7, Biola Cafeteria #23, Crowell Business Building #17 (meeting room), and Metzger Hall #43 (board meeting room). Primary hosing will be in Hope Hall. It is a dormitory housing with two single beds per room and a shared floor bathroom. Secondary housing is in the Lis Apartments. These are suite style room with two single beds per room, but a shared bathroom with another room next door; a total of for people sharing a bathroom These apartments have limited space and will be reserved for our married couples and ladies. Any unused space will be opened up the gentlemen closer to the event date. There are nearby hotels if you would like to upgrade your lodging at your own expense. Currently the Holiday Inn is offering a Biola room rate of $112. Call (714) 690-2108 and ask for Adriana Lara for this rate. This is the hotel Biola recommends and is closest to the campus. In regards to the annual Fellowship Breakfast, due to the increased costs, we will not be hosting one this year. With changes in MDRT scheduling, we are exploring potential options other than the Breakfast for the future. We are interested in your feedback.
